ARCTIC MONKEYS DISMISS RONSON COVER

English rockers ARCTIC MONKEYS has slammed producer MARK RONSON's new single STOP ME, labelling the track a "f**king R+B cover version". Ronson, who has produced for LILY ALLEN and AMY WINEHOUSE, has mish-mashed THE SMITHS' STOP ME IF YOU THINK YOU'VE HEARD THIS ONE BEFORE and THE SUPREMES' YOU JUST KEEP ME HANGING ON, featuring the vocals of Australian singer DANIEL MERRIWEATHER, into the first release from his debut album VERSION. Despite the critical acclaim Ronson has received for his album, the I BET YOU LOOK GOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR band aren't fans. Frontman ALEX TURNER says, "Let me tell you what I can't stand - that f**king R+B cover version of Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before." Guitarist JAMIE COOK laments the current state of hip-hop and complains TIMBALAND is dominating too many current chart hits. He laments, "Timbaland is a good producer, but he's in every song right now. Come on, there are other producers - and other beats."
