ARCADE FIRE TO PRODUCE SOUNDTRACK TO CAMERON DIAZ FILM
ARCADE FIRE have been signed up to produce the soundtrack to Richard Kelly's latest film.
The DONNIE DARKO director is currently working on THE BOX, which stars CAMERON DIAZ and JAMES MARSDEN.
For the soundtrack, the band will work with producer Markus Dravs who was involved with COLDPLAY's latest offering VIVA LA VIDA OR DEATH AND ALL HIS FRIENDS.
The group's involvement with the film had been kept under wraps until Markus revealed all on the internet.
A statement on his website reads: "Having finished COLDPLAY's forthcoming album 'Viva La Vida' - now off to Canada to work with ARCADE FIRE on a soundtrack for the forthcoming Richard Kelly film."
THE BOX is currently being edited and will be released later this year, reports Angry Ape.
According to reports, the film centres on a couple, Diaz and Marsden, who receive a wooden box as a gift, which with the press of a button will simultaneously give the holder $1 million (£514,000) and kill another human being somewhere in the world.
Speaking about the project when it was announced, Kelly said: "My hope is to make a film that is incredibly suspenseful and broadly commercial, while still retaining my artistic sensibility."
