ANISTON LESS VAIN THANKS TO HONEST MUM

JENNIFER ANISTON credits her mother's backhanded compliments with helping her become less vain with age - because she's learned to value her humour over Hollywood's obsession with good looks.
The 40-year-old actress struggled to accept her imperfections growing up and admits her once-estranged mother was never shy about telling her when a friend was more beautiful.
But Aniston insists she took the harsh remarks in stride, and now thanks her mum for helping her learn to laugh at her flaws.
She tells America's Elle magazine, "I remember being seven and asking my mom if I was as pretty as (my best friend) Monique. And, with all the love in the world, my mom looked at me and said, 'Oh, honey, you're so funny.'
"So, she doesn't lie to me... She answers the question by not answering and instead tells me what she thinks is my greatest strength... I put a lot of value in that at a very young age."
