ANDREW CASTLE BECOMES SEVENTH CELEBRITY TO LEAVE STRICTLY
Television presenter Andrew Castle has become the latest celebrity to be voted off the current series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The GMTV host is the seventh contestant to leave the new series of the BBC1 show having failed to overcome singer Heather Small in a dance-off.
Castle, a former tennis professional, exited the competition at the same stage as his GMTV co-presenter Kate Garraway in her 2007 appearance.
Castle and his dance partner Ola Jordan scored just 21 points out of a possible 40 on the Saturday night edition of the show, with the judges criticising his flat-footedness.
Head judge Len Goodman told the GMTV presenter: "Instead of Andrew Castle you've got to be more like a bouncy castle.
"The key to the samba is you've got to get that bounce out."
Bruno Tonioli added: "The samba should have the excitement of the Brazilian Grand Prix and this was a Brazilian grand flop: no bounce, poor hip action, heavy-footed."
After hearing the bad news, Castle said: "Can I just take a second here to thank everybody on Strictly Come Dancing for taking care of us amateur dancers, and for the person who's as beautiful as she is talented and generous too, Ola."
Former M People singer Small and her dance partner Brian Fortuna survived the dance-off for the third time, with all four judges backing their cha-cha-cha.
Beyonce Knowles will make a special appearance on next weekend's results show.
