ANDRE WINS LIBEL DAMAGES
Pop star PETER ANDRE has won "substantial" damages from a U.K. magazine over false reports about his parenting skills.
The Mysterious Girl hitmaker sued IPC Media for libel over an article published in Now magazine in July (09) following his split from wife Katie Price.
The report made false accusations about two accidents suffered by Price's severely disabled son Harvey, and made untrue references to the former couple's sex life.
The star's solicitor, Gordon Williams, told the court, "Mr Andre was also said to have demanded sick sexual threesomes from his wife, which horrified her and which she did not enjoy, feeling used and like a sex doll. As a result, Mr Andre was said to be lying in portraying himself as a loving father and husband."
The star, who has a son and a daughter with Price, accepted undisclosed damages at London's High Court on Tuesday (10Nov09).
Speaking after the hearing, he said: "I take my responsibilities very seriously. I would never do anything to hurt my children, whom I love very much."
