ANDERSON TO RECORD UNDER ALIAS
Former SUEDE frontman Brett Anderson is reportedly planning to record his forthcoming solo album under a new alias.
The singer rose to fame in the 1990s with the popular indie band, enjoying chart success with songs such as The Beautiful Ones and Animal Nitrate, but they eventually split in 2003.
However, he claims there is now too much "baggage" attached to his name that he feels he has to "drag everywhere".
Anderson recently released his second solo album WILDERNESS and has said he plans to record a new album every year from now on.
He formed THE TEARS with former SUEDE guitarist Bernard Butler, but they have been on hiatus since 2006.
Meanwhile, the singer recently hit out at OASIS frontman Liam Gallagher, who he claimed is more like a showman than a true rock n roll star.
"It's not about pretending to be John Lennon and wearing his glasses and getting your hair cut like him. That's theme-park rock'n'roll," he said.
