ANDERSON THANKS HILFIGER FOR FUR BAN
Animal-loving actress PAMELA ANDERSON has sent fashion designer pal TOMMY HILFIGER a bouquet of flowers after learning he had banned fur from his collections.
Anderson, 39, introduced Hilfiger to DAN MATHEWS, vice-president of People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA), at her August (06) wedding to KID ROCK in St Tropez in the south of France.
After Mathews brought Hilfiger's attention to the cruel methods used in fur farms, the American designer decided to withdraw animal skins from his forthcoming line.
Anderson enthuses, "Since Tommy mostly used fur on collars and cuffs, his decision to go fur-free really puts the spotlight on fur trim, which is one of my biggest pet peeves.
"People who think 'it's just a little fur trim' need to know that animals suffer tremendously for every piece of fur, and it's unacceptable to wear any of it. Thanks, Tommy, for sticking up for the animals."
Mathews adds, "Tommy's anti-fur policy will spare countless animals from becoming fashion victims."
