ANDERSON LAUGHS AT THERE WILL BE BLOOD
Filmmaker PAUL THOMAS ANDERSON is so amused by his oil drama THERE WILL BE BLOOD, it makes him laugh out loud. The historical epic - which stars Daniel Day-Lewis as an empire-building oil tycoon - is irrefutably dramatic, but Anderson, 37, insists he aimed to make the film an "uplifting" experience for moviegoers. He says, "I see so much humour in this story, it makes me laugh - at least, how absurd it all gets. "I remember feeling that we can't just be grim, we have to have some humour in here. We didn't want it just to be dark. I always thought at the very least that it should be uplifting."
