ANDERSON BLAMES BATMAN FOR POOR X-FILES TAKINGS

Actress GILLIAN ANDERSON is blaming the popularity of new BATMAN movie THE DARK KNIGHT for THE X-FILES film's low box office grossings.
The X-Files: I Want To Believe, starring Anderson and David Duchovny, earned a disappointing $10.2 million (GBP5.1 million) in its opening weekend (26-27Jul08) in the U.S., while The Dark Knight took an impressive $75 million (GBP37.5 million) in the same weekend.
And Anderson is convinced that her movie - based on the hit TV show - is suffering because so many people are flocking to see the Batman sequel.
She says, "It's (The X-Files film) had a bit of a rough time in the States. It's opening against one of the highest grossing movies, Batman.
"People in the States are so used to lots of CGI (computer-generated imagery), action and sex and we don't really off a lot of that in this film."

brovi says: The millions made off this pretend-a-movie should be exhibit A in a court case against that dying X-Files gang for defrauding the public. Anderson said it well in comparing the Duchovny and the Nazi Boy's supposed Sci-Fi action movie to a real Sci-Fi action movie (Batman movie)>Anderson's coerced participation in said X-Files 2 by no means makes this rip off her movie>don't blame Anderson. The X-Files 2 so called Sci-Fi action movie had no action>no script and certainly no expensive computer graphics. It had no sex>no way between the two opposing (to the death) individuals, Duchovny and Anderson. It was obvious from the beginning that this Fox gang, excluding Anderson, had no intention of making a movie>using the fame of the T.V. X-Files serie s and Anderson's name to lie to the public concerning their fraudulent plan to make a quick -get out of town- buck. Though the latest Batman movie is perhaps one of the worst Batman movies ever released, at least they did put some time and money into it. Anderson's statement comparing the Batman release with the X-Files 2 release speaks volumes. The only thing that Duchovny and the Nazi Boys put into their fast cash movie scheme was Duchovny's relentless mouth>talking X-Files 2 for years>and marketing prior to it's unfortunate release. We're confident that the people who bothered to watch this pork-chop did so for the same reason people look at a car wreck>and to see how Anderson dealt with being forced to do a movie with the enemy. We have to give Anderson and her crew great reviews on her performance concerning this. She gave just enough in doing her job while telling the public that "this movie so sucks." best, brovi
