ANASTASIO HANDED FELONY DRUG POSSESSION CHARGE

LATEST: Former PHISH frontman TREY ANASTASIO has been handed felony drug possession, driving under the influence of drugs and driving while intoxicated charges after being indicted in Vermont. The rocker pleaded not guilty last month (JAN07) to misdemeanour charges of drug possession and driving under the influence of drugs but charges have now been added following new findings in the case. Added charges relate to the discovery of the painkiller hydrocodone. Prosecutors claim Anastasio was also caught with heroin, oxycodone and anti-anxiety drug alprazolam when he was pulled over by traffic police near Albany, Vermont in December (06). If convicted on all charges, Anastasio, who could be arraigned later today (16FEB07), may face up to 14 years in prison.
