AMY WINEHOUSE'S HUSBAND 'REJECTS CHANCE OF EARLY RELEASE'

Amy Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil has rejected a chance for early release from prison, it has been claimed.

The 26-year-old was sentenced to 27 months in jail in July having pleaded guilty to charges of grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.

He is currently detained at Highpoint Prison in Suffolk having spent the best part of a year in Pentonville, north London.

But according to the Sun newspaper, the husband of the Back to Black star has opted to remain in prison, despite being offered an early release deal which would see him fitted with an electronic tag, subjected to a 19:00 BST curfew and forced to live with his mother Georgette in Nottinghamshire.

The parole board has allegedly withdrawn its offer after Fielder-Civil requested that he be released to his home in Camden, also north London.

A source told the paper: "It was all set for him to be released, but because he refused to go to anywhere other than Camden, it was refused at the last minute.

"He doesn't want to go somewhere where he can't be reunited with Amy and his friends. He'd rather stay inside."

The source added: "The Prison Service feared he would break his parole if he was surrounded by the temptations of his old stomping ground."

The tabloid report claimed that Winehouse, 24, is "so upset" at her husband being denied parole.

Fielder-Civil and his friend Michael Brown, 40, Holloway, both admitted charges over a June 2006 attack upon Jamie King, 36, the owner of the Macbeths pub in Hoxton.

Following the attack the pair, along with Anthony Kelly and James Kennedy, tried to bribe Mr King with £200,000 and the promise of a holiday in Spain if he stopped the case from going to court.

The story emerged when Kelly and Kennedy went to a tabloid newspaper with the plot.
