AMOS TOO EMOTIONAL TO WATCH IDOL

TORI AMOS has to switch off the TV when reality competitions such as AMERICAN IDOL are on the air - because she feels compelled to lavish gifts on every failed contestant.
The singer's young daughter watches Simon Cowell's talent series regularly but Amos admits she grows too emotionally invested in the show's hopefuls to tune in.
She explains, "My husband said, 'You're getting far too involved. You have got to stop mothering the world. You can't just make it all better and send Louboutins (shoes) to everyone."
And the 1000 Oceans hitmaker insists it's the judges critiques that really offend her: "I have a hard time with the demeaning comments to the artists. I don't find it funny."
