AMOS CONSIDERED JOINING IDOL FOR A REBEL YELL

TORI AMOS almost joined BILLY IDOL's band when she was a struggling pianist looking for a record deal.
The Cornflake Girl hitmaker feared she'd never make it as a solo artist after a series of setbacks, and was on the verge of auditioning for White Wedding singer Idol when she scored a big break.
She tells Spin magazine, "I remember being told this whole woman-at-the-piano thing was dead after (Carole King album) Tapestry.
"Billy Idol was looking for a keyboard player, and I was really thinking about getting the gig. But then I got signed by Atlantic, so my big moment passed me by."
