Sugababes star Amelle Berrabah has been receiving hate mail from fans of Keisha Buchanan who blame her for Keisha quitting the girl band.

Sugababes star Amelle Berrabah has been receiving hate mail from fans of Keisha Buchanan.

The sexy singer is being blamed for Keisha leaving the band last week and Amelle is now living in fear of her safety.

A source said: "Her management have received thousands of abusive letters while her Twitter page has been overrun with them. She's petrified - some have been really threatening."

Amelle, 25, has allegedly been in tears every night and has told friends she's too scared to go out.

The source added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "She won't be hitting the club scene until everything has died down. She feels she is at risk."

Keisha quit the trio - of which she was the only remaining founding member - last week and was adamant it wasn't her decision.

It had been previously been reported that Amelle was to announce her departure from the group amid rumours she felt bullied by Keisha.

Keisha was replaced by UK Eurovision entrant Jade Ewen and Heidi has since said they are looking forward to moving on.

Heidi said: "Things came to a sudden end. We didn't think anything was going to continue at all. We were going to split - and we'd be over.

"But then management came to us and asked Amelle and me if we would like to carry on. And we did. We've been given a second chance."
