ALLEN'S SCOOP SNUBBED IN UK?
WOODY ALLEN's British-made movie SCOOP has been snubbed by UK distributors, after his SCARLETT JOHANSSON-starring film MATCH POINT flopped. Movie insiders insist the acclaimed director will have to drop his price if he wants the film in British cinemas, as his representatives are also said to be asking for an enormous distribution fee. An industry insider tells British newspaper the Daily Express, "The novelty of a 'British' Woody Allen film has worn off. "Match Point attracted poor reviews in the UK and because both Match Point and Scoop star Scarlett Johansson, it's not hugely attractive from a marketing point of view. It's a case of been there, done that."
