ALLEN: 'BROTHER'S ENGAGEMENT WAS A JOKE'

Pop star LILY ALLEN was joking when she recently announced her brother ALFIE's engagement - the singer only made the comments to "wind up" her sibling.
Allen sparked a press frenzy at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London last Tuesday (02Sep08) when she welcomed Alfie's girlfriend Jaime Winstone on stage, introducing the actress as her "soon-to-be-sister-in-law".
But Allen now admits her brother is not engaged to the star, daughter of famed actor Ray Winstone.
She writes on her MySpace.com internet page, "Alfie and Jaime had never been engaged, Jaime and I are the best of friends and I was just winding Alfie up, he's my little brother and that's what siblings do. Jaime wasn't p**sed off with me, if she was I would have known about it, believe me."
