ALBARN TO PREMIERE NEW PROJECT AT ELECTRIC PROMS

GORILLAZ mastermind DAMON ALBARN will premiere his collaboration with former THE CLASH bassist PAUL SIMONON during the BBC's Electric Proms season in October (06). The former BLUR frontman recently teamed up with Simonon, THE VERVE's SIMON TONG and FELA KUTI drummer TONY ALLEN to create the album THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE QUEEN. Albarn's representative insists the musicians are "a collective" and not a new band. THE WHO will also be premiering new rock opera WIRE + GLASS during the five-day musical extravaganza.
