ALBARN EXCITED ABOUT HAMMERSMITH PALAIS SHOW

British rocker DAMON ALBARN is excited by the prospect of playing the penultimate gig at legendary London venue Hammersmith Palais - as it will be the first time he performs there. Albarn's band THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE QUEEN will play at the venue which is due to be demolished later this year (07). The singer says, "We're going to play one of the last gigs there, it's one for PAUL (SIMONON, former bassist with THE CLASH) because him and Hammersmith Palais go back a long way. "I've never actually played there. I tend to go and see African gigs there on a Sunday night, that's all I've ever been there for. The band will play at the Hammersmith Palais on 31 March (07), with post-punk rockers THE FALL closing the venue on 1 April (07).
