ALBARN 'CONCERNED ABOUT BLUR SHOWS'

Damon Albarn has confessed to being concerned about BLUR'S reunion shows, in case they are not up to scratch.

The iconic Britpop band recently announced they will be reforming for two shows in London's Hyde Park next July, for which tickets rapidly sold out.

However, frontman Albarn said he is worried the band may not be able to match their former glories.

The singer recently guest hosted Zane Lowe's show on Radio 1, on which he claimed that the band's 1997 John Peel session in 1978 was "one of the highlights" of being in BLUR.

"I'm going to have to work hard to get back to that standard," he remarked.

Albarn told BBC Radio 4's Front Row that he and guitarist Graham Coxon rekindled their friendship over an eccles cake.

Guitarist Coxon left the band acrimoniously in 2002, but Albarn says their differences are now behind them.

"It really felt like it was back to how it was when we were younger," he explained.
