AKON'S FAN-THROWING CASE POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH
LATEST: AKON's court date to face misdemeanour endangerment and harassment charges has been adjourned until March (08), after the R+B star's lawyer appealed to have the case postponed. The Smack That hitmaker was performing in Fishkill, New York, in June (07) when an audience member threw an object at him. The culprit was brought to the stage by security upon Akon's request, before reportedly hoisting the teenager onto his shoulders and throwing him back into the audience. The youth landed on another teenager, who later claimed she had been diagnosed with concussion. Akon - who pleaded not guilty to charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree harassment in December (07) - is now due back in court on 5 March (08), after his lawyer Benjamin Brafman successfully had his request granted by a judge during a hearing at Fishkill Town Court on Wednesday (16Jan08). Akon is currently free of his own recognisance.
