AKON INSISTS T-PAIN SHOULD HAVE HIS PRIZE

AKON all but handed over his first American Music Awards prize to pal T-PAIN after insisting his fellow nominee join him onstage as he made his acceptance speech. The I Wanna Love You hitmaker claimed the R+B Male Artist honour at the Los Angeles event, and confessed he was surprised T-Pain wasn't a winner. He said, "If you knew the work this kid puts in..." But T-Pain, real name Faheem Najm, wasn't bitter - he was planning to steal the award from his pal. He joked, "He don't have no more room on the top of his TV, so I'm gonna go ahead and let him walk off the stage with it and I'm gonna take it home."
