AIKEN THANKS WELL-WISHING FANS

LATEST: CLAY AIKEN has thanked fans for their words of support, following his decision to come out as gay.
The former American Idol star and new dad made the announcement in the latest edition (06Oct08) of People magazine, claiming he "cannot raise a child to lie or hide things".
And he has been inundated with words of support from fans.
Aiken updated his website on Wednesday (24Sep08) with a special message for well-wishing devotees. It reads, "Suffice to say, for the first time in recent memory, I am speechless. I'm so proud to know and love all of you.
"My family is so much larger than (his baby son) Parker, (Parker's mum) Jaymes, mom, (brother) Brett, etc. It extends to each of you. And I couldn't be more blessed."

Too bad the media hounds people regarding their sexuality. People like Rock Hudson, Barry Manilow had it a little easier. We were a little more civil at that time. These weren't topics that were discussed. If they were I don't think people like Rock Hudson would have had the successful careers that they enjoyed. Its too bad we don't give our celebrities of today the same courtesy. After all it isn't anyones business, especially the public.

Clay is a class act....and deserves the love and respect of all those who've followed his career since May 2003. He has done so much for the children of other countries via UNICEF and for children in America with special needs via his charitable organization, the Bubel-Aiken Foundation. He is a wonderful human being who has given of himself so many times, we've lost count. There are some fans who just cannot accept this recent development but, the numbers are relatively few compared to the thousands all over the world who still stand supporting this giving and talented gentleman. His clayfans in Argentina, Brazil, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and, of course, the US and Canada, applaud him for his courage to reveal his soul and to ensure Parker has a life free of personal constraints. We could not love him more.
