AIKEN CONSIDERS ADOPTION TO HELP A CHILD THROUGH COLLEGE
AMERICAN IDOL star CLAY AIKEN is planning to join the celebrity adoption army, so he can help an orphan realise their full potential. The singer, who was recently appointed to US President GEORGE W BUSH's White House disability committee, admits he has always dreamed of becoming a father - even if it means adoption. He says, "There's an orphanage not too far from my house, and I've been up (there) before with (my) church. "I always thought, 'What happens to those kids who have the potential to go to college but just can't afford it?' I've been thinking a lot lately about finding a way to pay for one of those kids to go to college." Aiken has a long history with helping children - before entering the American Idol contest, the singer worked with special needs kids in his native North Carolina.

My gosh how you have sensationalized his comments about helping a child. I saw
the interview and he in no way indicated he was jumping on the celebrity band
wagon. He has always wanted to do things for kids, but since he can't pursue
his teaching career he stated he would like to help a child and possibly
adopt. Please don't put him in the category of the Jolie-Pitt celebs who are
always in the news media!
Thanks for your great article about Clay Aiken. Clay has proven himself to be
a great guy with a caring and giving heart! He's a good role model and also a
terrific singer! I'm so enjoying his new cd, A Thousand Different Ways!
