AEROSMITH 'PREPARING FOR NEXT ALBUM'

AEROSMITH are gearing up to start work on their 15th studio album, the band have confirmed.

The veteran rockers have not released an album of original material since 2001's JUST PUSH PLAY.

Frontman Steven Tyler made the headlines last year when he checked into a rehab centre for an addiction to sleeping pills.

However, writing on the band's blog, drummer Joey Kramer confirmed that he and bass player Tom Hamilton had begun work for the next record, which is slated for release later this year.

"We just rehearsed for two hours and it feels so good! We can't wait to get back into the studio and get back out on the road to do what we do best," he said.

Last year, guitarist Brad Whitford said the band's next album had been beset by a series of health problems among the band members.

"We're just... getting older," he wistfully told Billboard.
