AEROSMITH HAWAII LAWSUIT HEADING TO TRIAL

Rockers AEROSMITH are facing legal action from a group of fans over a cancelled concert in Hawaii - and the case is now set to go to trial.
The Walk This Way hitmakers have been embroiled in the feud since they scrapped a planned show in Maui on 26 September 2007.
And fans who planned to attend subsequently launched a legal action - claiming the band cancelled the date to focus on a more lucrative gig in Chicago, Illinois earlier that month (Sep07).
The group insist they were unable fly their equipment over to the island in time for the concert.
And now the case is heading to court, with the trial scheduled to begin on 11 May 2009 in Hawaii.
Attorney Brandee Faria, who filed the lawsuit on behalf of the fans, tells TicketNews.com, "The defendants have already had the opportunity to take the depositions of all of the named class representatives.
"After we have received all the discovery (primarily documents) we have asked for from defendants, we will begin taking the depositions of the band and others who were involved in the concert and the subsequent cancellation."
Aerosmith's lawyer Jay Handlin, tells the Honolulu Advertiser that he and his clients "think the claims are meritless".
The group of fans - who all received refunds - are suing for up to $3 million (GBP1.62 million) in damages relating to lost travel and hotel expenses.

get over it.... everyone knows these are just people. you can't sue someone because they can't make an appointment. no matter what the reason. it's rediculous. you should have planned your vacation to have some fun anyway... whether you saw a concert or not. that's just rediculous. you obviously don't like the band that much if you're suing them over it. i missed out on an aero show with my friends when the huge blackout hit all over the east and midwest. the detroit show... and my friend couldn't make it to the rescheduled event. it didn't mean i was going to sue the band. seriously... go have some fun in hawaii... i'm sure it wasn't that bad!

I think the ticket holders have every right to sue Aerosmith for their travel accomadations, hotels, etc. in this lawsuit. The price of the tickets (which are already inflated prices) are not a sufficient enough settlement, to those who have been damaged by the bands' inability to make good on their concert. Many hard working fans took vacation time from work, expensive flights to Hawaii, and outrageous prices for booked hotels in a very resorty touristy area just for the intention of seeing their favorite band play at that venue! The band did not give a reasonable amount of time for cancellation to allow people to change their travel plans and reservations. Aerosmith should be ashamed of themselves! Their fans have made them all millionaires over and over again through the years. Reimbursement to fans for this concert shouldn't even be an issue! Obviously and sadly greed and money has lessened their popularity and their characters as well. Guess it's time to "Walk The Other Way!" Good luck in court faithful fans! SHAME ON YOU AEROSMITH!
