AEROSMITH 'GEARING UP FOR NEW ALBUM'

AEROSMITH have said they hope to return to the studio to record a new album in the near future.

The legendary rockers have been on a lengthy break due to medical issues affecting singer Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry.

Tyler and Perry - formerly known as the Toxic Twins - have both been treated for leg injuries, with some reports also suggesting the frontman was batting drug addiction.

However, guitarist Brad Whitford told Billboard that they are looking to get back into the studio as soon as possible.

"We're sitting on a bunch of material already recorded for a new album," he said.

"We haven't gone back into the studio to put the final touches on it and get it done and we still don't know when we're gonna do that. Hopefully it's gonna be sooner rather than later."

The band have not released an album of all-original material since JUST PUSH PLAY in 2001.
