ADELE'S CHEWING GUM GRAMMY FAUX-PAS

ADELE found herself in big trouble with her mother after scooping two Grammy Awards this year (09), because she was chewing gum during her acceptance speeches.
The British star was stunned to scoop the Best New Artist prize, and didn't have the time to prepare herself and empty her mouth before she took to the stage.
Adele says, "When the award for Best New Artist was announced, I was so convinced that the Jonas Brothers or Duffy were going to win, I wasn't prepared at all. I'd undone my belt and I had chewing gum in my mouth."
And her actions earned her a scolding from her mum before being congratulated on her wins: "When I came off stage and rang my mum to tell her, she was like, 'Yeah, I saw... you had gum in your mouth!' I don't think she was impressed!"
Adele also won the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance award for her hit Chasing Pavements.
