ACTRESS PATRICIA MARCHAND DEAD
PATRICIA MARCHAND, Broadway's LOIS LANE, has died, aged 74.
The actress, who played Superman's love interest in quirky 1960s musical It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman, lost her battle with brain cancer on Thursday (27Nov08) at her home in Manhattan. She was 74.
As well as her many successes on stage, the Tony Award nominee was also a regular on the Merv Griffin Show on television in America.
Marchand's theatre credits include a stint in The King + I, opposite Yul Brynner, and as Aldonza in Man Of La Mancha.
The redhead won her Tony nomination for her starring role as Lois Lane in the Broadway production of It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman in 1966.
