ACTORS' CLEAN-CUT LOOKS SPELL END FOR TRAINSPOTTING SEQUEL
Director DANNY BOYLE has abandoned plans for a sequel to TRAINSPOTTING - because original castmembers EWAN MCGREGOR, JONNY LEE MILLER and ROBERT CARLYLE look too "well kept".
The filmmaker has been toying with the idea of a follow-up to the 1996 hit, about a group of heroin addicts living in Edinburgh, Scotland.
But Boyle admits he's given up on the project, which would revisit the main characters after two decades, because the actors will no longer look convincing.
He tells movie website Aintitcoolnews.com, "Actors. They're in the sauna on the weekend... You think they're hard-drinking, partying, and they're not. They're tucked up in bed at 10 o'clock.
"They do look very well kept, so it wouldn't work at the moment. You'd have to do so much make-up."
