ACTOR SUES KNOXVILLE OVER STUNT

An actor is suing Jackass star Johnny Knoxville over claims he was not paid $10 million (£5 million) for a stunt that left him injured.

Perry Caravello has filed a legal action against Mr Knoxville, talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and radio presenter Adam Carolla for the alleged $10 million he was promised for putting his genitals in a mousetrap.

Mr Caravello claims he was never paid for promoting a movie called Windy City Heat, which involved him putting his genitals in the mousetrap while on Mr Carolla's show.

Legal papers which have been filed at Los Angeles Superior Court say Mr Caravello "agreed to do so, and, much to his emotional tranquility and to his physical harm, was severely injured when the trap literally went on his manhood".

The actor also claims that clips of the incident appeared on the internet after being filmed without his permission. He also contends that the three men he is suing failed to provide him with a full account of the royalties from sales of the DVD.

Mr Knoxville became a TV star when the programme Jackass was originally shown on MTV involving stunts that caused pain to Knoxville and the other stars of the show.

The franchise has since been made into two movies and Mr Knoxville starred with Jessica Simpson in a remake of The Dukes of Hazzard.
