ABC STAR FRY TO HEAD AFRICAN CHARITY TREK

ABC star MARTIN FRY and GO WEST's RICHARD DRUMMIE are teaming up to trek through Namibia next year (10) in an effort to raise awareness and cash for African medical charities.
The 80s hitmakers will spend 20 days walking across southwest Africa in March and hope to raise millions for Action Medical Research.
Look of Love singer Fry tells WENN, "We're going to be trekking for about two and a half weeks for this charity which develops a lot of inventions like photographic equipment and scientific developments that they use in hospitals particularly to help newborn babies.
"There's a bit of sponsorship money needed and I think there are plans to do a small documentary."
The ABC frontman is looking forward to the trek, but not to the creatures he might encounter en route: "I'm not looking forward to the scorpions. I'm not a big scorpions fan! They're only about three inches tall and they're not gonna beat you up but I don't want to see a couple of them scurrying around in the tent.
"It's going to be an adventure. It's a great way to see that part of the world because, if you went on your own or with a couple of mates, you wouldn't know where to go. It's a group of 30 people, so it's a great way of doing it safely with doctors on hand to strap you up in the morning and get you going."
