90210 STAR MISSED OUT ON TWILIGHT LEAD BECAUSE HE WASN'T A BRIT

90210 hunk DUSTIN MULLIGAN has revealed he was a front runner for the role of brooding vampire Edward Cullen in the TWILIGHT movie saga - but he missed out because he wasn't British enough.
The young actor, who played Ethan in the first season of the hit TV drama, auditioned for Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, but lost out to Brit Robert Pattinson.
He says, "Unfortunately, I didn’t have a British accent, so, I didn’t get the job."
As upset as he was about not landing the lead role, Mulligan admits he was really disappointed about the fact he wouldn't be working with his In the Land of Women co-star Kristen Stewart again.
He adds, "Kristen was actually a remarkable young woman. I met her when she was 15... She’s really really smart... She's got the potential to do anything."
