$700 SHOWER FOR ANGELINA AND SON

Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie was spotted splashing out on a trendy hotel room, just so her and her son could have a shower.

When money is no object, celebrities don't stand for feeling anything less than perfect. A quick freshen up at the Shutters on the Beach hotel in Santa Monica, California, is perfectly acceptable, even if it costs $700 (£354).

Angelina and her son Maddox popped into the lush boutique style ocean-front accommodation but had no plans of holidaying.

A source at the hotel told Star magazine about the celebrity encounter: "Angelina said they only wanted the room for two hours, time enough for them both to take a shower. She was very sweet and seemed like a concerned mom."

The hotel employee, like most of us, found the whole thing very strange: "It was just very bizarre, when she and Brad Pitt own two houses here in Los Angeles, that she would need to spend that kind of money on a hotel room just so she and Maddox could shower."

Angelina has two adopted children, Maddox, five, and Zahara, two, and a biological child with Brad Pitt, baby Shiloh.
