50 CENT 'SCHOOLS JOAQUIN'

50 CENT has been offering advice to JOAQUIN PHOENIX on how to develop a successful hip hop career.

The Gladiator star recently announced he was quitting movies in order to become a rapper, but has so far been unable to convince the public of his credibility.

However, 50 has said Joaquin could forge a successful career if he incorporates his own experiences into his rhymes.

The rapper said: "He should write about the things that he has real interest in, the things he has been influenced by. Because, when an artist writes something that's totally away from their experience period, it can't be embraced."

The actor has claimed he is "following his heart" by becoming a full time musician, but has repeatedly had to insist that it is not an elaborate hoax.

A recent performance at a Las Vegas nightclub saw the star mumbling incoherently into a microphone before falling off the stage.
