44 FANS ARRESTED AT COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL

Country music turned nasty at the weekend (12-15Jul07) when Canadian police arrested 44 fans at a four-day festival, featuring REBA MCENTIRE and CARRIE UNDERWOOD, in Saskatchewan. According to local reports, the Craven Country Music Jamboree turned into chaos when 23,000 music fans descended on the town for Sunday's finale. Ten motorists were arrested for impaired driving and there were a series of assaults that also led to arrests, including four sexual assaults. Other fans were arrested for weapons offences and thefts. As well as MCEntire and Underwood, the festival also featured performances by Big + Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Glen Campbell and Marty Stuart.
