30 ROCK ALL-STARS' CHARITY VIDEO IS AN INTERNET HIT

SHERYL CROW, ELVIS COSTELLO, NORAH JONES and MICHAEL MCDONALD have scored a new Internet video sensation by poking fun at charity singles on U.S. TV comedy 30 ROCK.
The quartet joined the Beastie Boys, Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, Mary J. Blige and Cyndi Lauper for a We Are The World-type sing-along as part of a plotline on the hit show.
Alec Baldwin's TV executive character, Jack Donaghy, brought the stars together for his charity Kidney Now, which aims to boost kidney donations so his long-suffering father, played by Alan Alda, can get the organ he needs to live.
The pop, rock and R&B stars all managed to keep a straight face for the filming of the hilarious all-celebrity video to accompany the song He Needs a Kidney, which has become a big hit on YouTube after airing on TV on Thursday night (15May09).
The song is also up for sale as a download on iTunes.com with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to the National Kidney Foundation.
The highlights include Jones and Lauper's sung confession that they're drunk, Crow revealing she's the only star getting paid and Costello's deadpan message, "Listen, when someone starts talking in a song, you know it’s serious."
But it's MCDonald who raises the biggest laugh when he notes Alda's character, Milton Green, "needs a kidney just like I need this beard. You don’t want to know what’s under here."
