NEIL YOUNG - YOUNG OPENS ARCHIVES AT LAST
Legendary rocker NEIL YOUNG is finally honouring a decades-old promise to dig deep into his archives - a boxset of unreleased material will be hitting shops later this year (07).
The 60-year-old will unveil ARCHIVES VOLUME 1, which features eight CDs and two DVDs of unreleased live and studio material as well as memorabilia, this autumn (07).
Before that, Young is releasing a solo concert CD, LIVE AT MASSEY HALL, recorded in January 1971 in Toronto, Canada.
The disc contains songs that were released in a fuller form on Young's 1972 album HARVEST. However, Young now wishes he'd then taken the advice of his longtime producer DAVID BRIGGS, and released Live At Massey Hall instead.
He says, "I was very excited about the takes we got on Harvest and wanted Harvest out. David disagreed. As I listen to this (Live At Massey Hall) today, I can see why."
