MOLLY SHANNON - YEAR OF THE DOG STAR SHANNON ALLERGIC TO MUTTS

Actress MOLLY SHANNON attempted to suffer in silence on the set of new movie YEAR OF THE DOG - because she's allergic to man's best friend. The former SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE regular, kept her medical issues from director MIKE WHITE in the run up to the shoot for fear he'd replace her, but her allergies became too much of a problem. Shannon, who also starred in doggie flick GOOD BOY, tells Movies.com, "I'm allergic to dogs. Unfortunately, the day before we started filming I did a publicity shoot and this dog was licking me. "Suddenly my face broke out in horrible red welts. So I had to confess that I had an allergy and they were like, 'Oh my God.' They sent me to a doctor who prescribed all this medication."
