POPSTARS - X-FACTOR IN 'FAKE' HOMES STORM

ITV1 talent show the X-Factor has been linked with a new TV faking row.

Viewers of the Saturday night show had watched 24 aspiring popstars flown abroad to perform for their mentors in the show.

Wannabes were seen singing for judges Simon Cowell in a Marbella mansion, Danni Minogue in an Ibiza villa, Sharon Osbourne at a glamorous property in Los Angeles and Louis Walsh at an ornate Dublin townhouse.

But Walsh has since revealed that the properties shown were not the judges' real homes.

Appearing on BBC2's Graham Norton Show he said: "That wasn't my house. That wasn't Sharon's house or Dannii's house or Simon's house either."

A spokeswoman for the show explained the TV trickery, saying: "The contestants are invited to a house. We call them the judges' houses, not the judges' homes."

She added: "Sharon had only just moved in to her new home and hadn't even unpacked so we couldn't have filmed it there.

"We have never said they are the judges' real homes and it has been this way for the past four years."
