RODDY PIPER - WRESTLER PIPER BATTLING CANCER

Legendary wrestler 'ROWDY' RODDY PIPER has been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer and will begin treatment to fight the disease immediately. The 52-year-old Canadian, who starred in director JOHN CARPENTER's 1988 movie THEY LIVE, posted a statement on his website yesterday (27NOV06) confirming that doctors found a cancerous tumour on a disc in his spine. Piper writes: "It seems like I have been fighting someone, something, someplace, in some manner, my whole life. But this fight is one I am gonna win!"
