OLIVER STONE - WORLD TRADE CENTER PRODUCERS DONATE $1.3 MILLION

WORLD TRADE CENTER film-makers are honouring their promise to donate five per cent of the movie's opening weekend box office receipts to the September 11th (01) memorial. The memorial foundation yesterday (28AUG06) announced producers of the OLIVER STONE film are donating $1.3 million (GBP725,000). A further $1.3 million is to be divided equally among three other 9/11 charities - Tuesday's Children, the Tribute WTC Visitor Center, and the New York Police And Fire Widows' And Children's Benefit Fund. World Trade Center stars NICOLAS CAGE and MICHAEL PENA as two real-life police officers trapped for hours in the rubble after the Twin Towers collapsed.
