STEVE WINWOOD - WINWOOD TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM

Veteran rocker STEVE WINWOOD is set to release a new LP - his first studio album in five years. The 59-year-old Brit is performing three highly-anticipated concerts with his former Blind Faith bandmate Eric Clapton in New York this week (begs25Feb08), and he's recruited the Layla star to play guitar on the disc's first single Dirty City. Nine Lives, Winwood's first recording with Columbia Records, is slated for release later this spring (08). Winwood will then tour in the summer (08) as an opening act for Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers.
