STEVE WINWOOD - WINWOOD STILL PASSES TRAFFIC COTTAGE

Rocker STEVE WINWOOD still visits the haunted cottage where supergroup TRAFFIC lived, wrote and recorded their hits.
The Higher Love hitmaker admits the fabled country retreat is an hour away from where he lives in Berkshire - and he often passes it while out driving.
And he occasionally takes the 20-minute trek to the door of the remote home, where he wrote and recorded hits like Mr. Fantasy and Freedom Rider.
He says, "It's no more than an hour away (from where I live). I've driven many times past the road, but it's been a long time since I've actually gotten out of the car and walked the couple of miles to the house.
"You have to walk - a car would get stuck."
And Winwood still has eerie recollections about living in the Traffic cottage: "I remember that there was a room that had just been painted, so no one slept in it.
"The next morning, there were footprints across the floor in the wet paint - going in only one direction."
