SOLVEIG DOMMARTIN - WINGS OF DESIRE ACTRESS DOMMARTIN DIES
French actress SOLVEIG DOMMARTIN, who starred as MARION, the lonely trapeze artist in WIM WENDERS' WINGS OF DESIRE, died on 11 January (07) of a heart attack. She was 45.
The Paris-born star acted with the Compagnie Timothee Laine and Theater Labor Warschau legit trouple and also worked as an assistant for influential film director JACQUES ROZIER.
In 1987, she appeared as an ethereal aerialist who tempts the lovesick angel played by BRUNO GANZ to trade his wings for mortality in Wings Of Desire.
Dommartin also appeared occasionally on various French TV series throughout the 1990s.
