AMY WINEHOUSE - WINEHOUSE'S FATHER DISMISSES DRUGS FEARS

LATEST: The father of troubled star AMY WINEHOUSE has criticised British tabloid newspapers for employing "underhand tactics" by publishing a video of his daughter indulging in a major drugs binge - insisting the singer is fine. The footage - which was obtained by British newspaper The Sun - was taken at Winehouse's East London apartment on Friday (18Jan08), the singer can be seen snorting powdered ecstasy and lighting up a crack pipe. But Mitch Winehouse insists the Back to Black star is in good health and the film doesn't tell him anything that he didn't already know about the 24-year-old. He tells celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, "I've spoken to her (Amy) already and she's fine. She says she's ok, so no problems. All that picture shows is what everybody knew anyway. "Yes, I am worried about her but this picture doesn't show anything we didn't already know before. It just shows me the tabloids are resorting to underhand tactics to expose her and we already know what the problems are." Winehouse has been battling her drug demons ever since she was rushed to a London hospital last August (07) after a drugs overdose. But she has refused to seek professional help after insisting no rehab centre can cure her.
