MTV - WINEHOUSE TO SING AT MTV AWARDS

MTV has announced that Amy Winehouse will be performing at tonight's Europe Music Awards.

The broadcaster said it was delighted to announce the "last-minute addition" to the lineup of performers at the event.

Winehouse, who has become notorious for last-minute cancellations of performances, will join Pete Doherty's Babyshambles, the Foo Fighters, Avril Lavigne, Nicole Scherzinger and others on stage at the show in Munich.

The Rehab star has been nominated for the most addictive track and album of the year awards. She will be facing stiff competition in the former category, with Nelly Furtado, Beyonce and Rihanna all vying for the same prize.

Along with Linkin Park and Avril Lavigne, Winehouse's competitors are all up for three awards at tonight's show.

Awards in nine different categories will be handed out at the ceremony.

Justin Timberlake leads the pack with four nominations in the ultimate urban, headliner, solo artist of the year and video star categories. The Arctic Monkeys and Muse will be competing against the What Goes Around star for honours in the headliner category tonight.

This year's show will be hosted by rapper Snoop Dogg.
