AMY WINEHOUSE - WINEHOUSE LAYS INTO KOOKS SINGER

Kooks frontman Luke Pritchard learned the old adage 'flattery will get you nowhere' the hard way this week, after jazz singer Amy Winehouse reacted badly to a good-natured remark.

Pritchard approached the 23-year-old during the recording of Later with Jools Holland to compliment her over number one album Back to Black – only for Winehouse to respond with a four-letter tirade.

Stunned guests on the show, including Paul Weller, looked on aghast as the singer laid into Pritchard mercilessly.

"All I said to her was that I enjoyed her latest album. And suddenly, out of the blue, she had a massive go at me," he told the Daily Mirror.

"At one point she told me to f*****g pull my head out of my a**e. It was really weird. Everyone was just standing around looking at her."

But showing he's man enough to rise over the abuse, the She Moves in Her Own Way singer admits he still thinks Winehouse is great.

"She's got an amazing voice," he added.
