MAURICE - WHITTAKER: 'PEOPLE THOUGHT I DISRESPECTED PETER O'TOOLE'

British actress JODIE WHITTAKER provoked alarm from passer-bys when she violently shoved veteran actor PETER O'TOOLE - only for the concerned strangers to later realise the pair were shooting a scene for new movie VENUS. Members of the public criticised the 24-year-old after seeing her shove O'Toole's character MAURICE in British fashion chain Topshop, having failed to notice the cameras surrounding the actors as they shot the scene. She recalls, "It was hilarious when we were shooting that scene. Maurice has come to buy my character a dress and he realises he has no money. I have to rush out in a strop and then - when he runs out after me - I shove him and run off. "And there were all these people on the street - nobody could see the camera - and people were saying, 'Oy, you don't treat an old person like that!'"
