PAUL WELLER - WELLER SLAMS 'DISGUSTING' GLASTONBURY

Legendary rocker PAUL WELLER has slammed British music festival Glastonbury - insisting the people who go are not true music fans.
Weller admits he isn't a fan of large scale festivals as they have become too "corporate" and too far removed from proper gigs, as most people there only want to hear artists play their greatest hits.
He says, "The difference between doing it in '94 and doing it last year, was that most of the audience knew the greatest hits, whereas in '94 they were music fans.
"You didn't just have to do the greatest hits, that was very noticeable to me. I'm not a big lover of festivals at the best of times, I like proper gigs... and it's just really corporate now isn't it?"
And the former The Jam star - who has played at the event on several occasions - feels sorry for all of the fans who pay good money to spend three days wallowing in a muddy field.
He adds, "The conditions are disgusting aren't they? I don't know how people can... I mean you'd have to be off your box (mad) just to stay there for three days wouldn't you?"
