SIGOURNEY WEAVER - WEAVER NEARLY QUIT ACTING OVER TEACHERS' BERATING

SIGOURNEY WEAVER almost gave up on her dream of becoming an actress after drama teachers branded her talentless.
The Alien star attended theatre classes at the prestigious Yale School of Drama, where her university instructors repeatedly told her she didn't have what it takes to succeed.
And the criticism hurt so much, Weaver even began to consider other professions.
She recalls, "I had no confidence. They took back the mean things they said. Eventually. But you put teachers on a pedestal and it was tough to hear that.
"You think, 'Well, if my teachers don't think I have any talent then I mustn't have any talent'."
